We are humungous fans of endurance athletics and their abilities to have wonderful effects on peoples lives. The photos/videos are a very important part of the memories. Of course the most important ones live on in your mind and and spirit. It is our hope to provide an alternative way to keep those memories.
The idea for this site and operations came to one of our members a few years back. He had just completed his first marathon. It was a cold day, much colder than he had expected, so he had to wear an 'extra' layer. Unfortunately that 'extra' layer blocked his bib number. The major photography services do many things by bib number. A couple of days after the race, still living in the glow of the accomplishment he went onto a major photography website to purchase his photograph. He typed in his bib numbers, and waited for his dial up connection to fill his computer screen with glorious pictures of him crossing the finish line. Later that day when his speedy dial up connection filled his computer screen with pictures from the race he saw no pictures of himself. He did see a couple of pictures of a woman who apparently had a bib number of close proximity. Frustrated, he looked for the search to find his picture by time. Unfortunately there was no search by time. He spent an hour on the phone with customer service at the photo company. Eventually, after a large amount of begging and pleading a photo was located of him. So after spending $30 dollars and undergoing a painful hour on the phone he had his picture. But he was forever changed and soured by the process.
So this site will be dedicated to bringing you our version of the events. We are super excited to have the opportunity to assist you in your memory preservation.
The pictures that we take will all be available under a Creative Commons License. This means that you can do pretty much anything with them as long as you stay within the following rules.
Attribution. You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor....Give us credit.
